Understanding Curtain Fullness

Fullness refers to how much extra fabric is used compared to your window width. More fullness creates richer folds and a more luxurious look.

Flat Curtain

Grommet header style with 1.5x fullness.

Full Curtain

Grommet header style with 2.5x fullness.

How to Measure Curtain Width

To determine the panel width you need, header style and rod/track width are needed.:

1. Measure Your Rod or Track Width.
If you don’t have a rod or track installed yet, measure your window width and add 6–15 inches on each side for better coverage.

2. Decide the curtain header style. For standard curtain styles:

Panel width = rod or track width / panel quantity × Fullness

Example: Rod width is 100" | Grommet Header | 2 Panels
Per panel width = 100" × 2x fullness / 2 panels

For Pinch Pleat & S-Fold curtains, fullness is already built into the design. No calculation is needed.

  • Pinch Pleat: 2.5x built-in fullness
  • S-Fold: 2.6x built-in fullness

The width you enter is the finished curtain width. Per panel width = Rod width / panel quantity

How to Choose the Curtain Length

1. Measure from the top of your rod or track to the floor.

If you don’t have a rod/track installed, measure from the top of your window to the floor. We recommend installing the rod/track 6–10" above the window for a taller, more elegant look.

2. Adjust for Header Style

Adjust the length based on your header style:
Pinch Pleat: Subtract 2" for rings
Rod Pocket: Add 1.5" for the top ruffle (with ruffle by default)
Grommet: Add 1.5" for the fabric above the grommets

3. Choose Your Floor Style

Adjust the final length based on your preferred look:
Kissing the Floor: No adjustment needed
Floating: Subtract the desired distance from the floor
Puddle: Add 2–3" for a relaxed, luxurious look
